When we first started building Goverdhan Greens Resort, “sustainability” wasn’t the massive buzzword it is today. To be honest, we weren’t trying to market ourselves as a “green resort” or hop on a trend. We were just trying to build responsibly in a place that meant the world to me.
Dwarka isn’t just a pin on a map for me; it’s my birthplace. Having watched this region change over the decades, I’ve seen firsthand how incredibly precious—and scarce—our natural resources can be, especially water. Long before eco-friendly practices became a hot topic in corporate boardrooms, it was just a matter of survival and common sense for anyone living in this part of Gujarat.
As World Environment Day comes around, I’ve been reflecting on the choices we made over the years. Many of them weren’t born out of some grand environmental strategy, but rather out of gut instinct, basic responsibility, and a deep respect for the land. Looking back, those simple choices are exactly what defined us.
